English: The Großer Grasbrook (or Grosser Grasbrook, i.e. literally large [great] grass wetland, with the Low German term Brook being related to the English term brook for small rivers) is an island of a kind of archipelago of islands between the various branches of the river Elbe. Together with five other islands the Großer Grasbrook makes up the HafenCity quarter of Hamburg. The island of Großer Grasbrook is located between the Norderelbe (literally: northern Elbe, the Elbe's Hamburg northern branch), bordering the island of Großer Grasbrook to the west and south, the regulated formerly natural water bodies of the Kehrwiederfleet (in the island's north west) and the St. Annenfleet (to the northeast) and the artificially dug harbour basin Magdeburger Hafen and a small canal, both to the island's east, connecting to the St. Annenfleet. The Großer Grasbrook is connected by 11 bridges (of which 4 are for pedestrians only) to four neighbouring islands, through which there are road connections to mainland Hamburg. Furthermore there is an underground connection.
