Grommes~Precision Electronics, Inc., founded by William Grommes in Chicago, operated first in Franklin Park, and then in Gurnee, Illinois since 1952 to date (2019). As of 2019, they're mostly in industrial sound, but in the age of tubes they built lots of inexpensive domestic gear too.
