This category concerns historical issues and aspects of the Korean civilization, for which the custom classification (according to current political divisions) would be inappropriate.
Depending on political affiliation, the collective term for the entire Korean peninsula in Korean can be either (Hangul: 한국 Hanja: 韩国 Romanization: Hanguk) or (Hangul: 조선 Hanja: 朝鲜 Romanization: Choson).
