English: Marcel-François Lefebvre ( 29 November 1905 – 25 March 1991) was a French Roman Catholic archbishop. Following a career as an Apostolic Delegate for West Africa and Superior General of the Holy Ghost Fathers, he took the lead in opposing the changes within the Church associated with the Second Vatican Council.

Français : Marcel Lefebvre est un homme d'église français né le 29 novembre 1905 à Tourcoing (Nord) et mort à Martigny le 25 mars 1991. Archevêque catholique de Dakar et délégué apostolique pour l'Afrique française, il devient en 1962 évêque de Tulle puis Supérieur général de la Congrégation du Saint-Esprit. Figure de l'opposition au concile de Vatican II, il fonde en 1970 la Fraternité Saint-Pie-X et le séminaire international d'Écône, créés pour « former des séminaristes en vue de la prêtrise ». En 1988, il est excommunié latæ sententiæ pour avoir sacré quatre évêques traditionalistes sans l'aval de Rome.

Er gründete 1970 die Pius-Bruderschaft und das Priesterseminar in Ecône. Infolge der unerlaubten Weihe von vier Bischöfen im Jahr 1988 wurde er exkommuniziert.
