English: The Mayfield United Methodist Church at 19 North Main Street in Mayfield, New York was founded in 1785 as the Mayfield Methodist Episcopal Church. Until 1825, the congregations met in barns, a local hotel, a ballroom and other places. The property the current church sits on was deeded to it in 1820, and services began in the still uncompleted building in 1823. The shed on the south side was added in 1838, and another one later the north side, which was removed in 1878. The sanctuary was reconstructed in 1850 and again in 1948. In 1866 an organ was added, and more reconstruction was done. (Source: [1])
