Probably from the same source as the ones in the Basilica Cistern this huge head of Medusa is thought (by some) to have belonged to a arch at the Forum of Constantine. Though one can also find a thesis that it belonged to a Doric temple of Athena. A notice just describes who Medusa was, and states this keystone is from the 4th century CE and from Beşiktaş in Istanbul (env. 3214 (T)).
