English: Mejillones is a Chilean port city and commune in Antofagasta Province, Antofagasta Region. It is situated in the northern side of Mejillones Peninsula, 60 km north of Antofagasta. To the west, in the northern part of peninsula, is Punta de Angamos, site of the naval combat of the same name, fought during the War of the Pacific.

Español: Mejillones, ciudad del norte de Chile, situada a 65 km de la ciudad de Antofagasta, en la provincia del mismo nombre, II Región. Fue nombrada así por los españoles, en virtud del mejillón, molusco conocido en Chile como "choro" (pequeño bivalvo que abunda en sus costas y que constituía uno de los alimentos preferidos de sus habitantes aborígenes).
