A text explains: The only mosque in Zelve is partly hewn out of the rock and partly built using cut stones. It’s mihrab is carved into the bedrock. It’s minaret is in a baldachin style with four columns and pointed top. This kind of minaret is often seen in mosques from the early Ottoman Period. Right opposite the mosque is the square used by the villagers of Zelda until 1952. A government site (and other sources) place the mosque in the "third valley".
