Moturu Kramat is believed to be the burial site of Muslim imam Tuan Matarah, also known as Sayed Abduraghman Motura. He was banished to Robben Island by the Dutch East India Company in 1743 and died there. Kramats are holy shrines for Muslims who seek blessings from those buried there. Visitors wishing to enter the kramat should be respectful, remove their shoes and cover their heads.
