English: Mpanga market is the biggest permanent market in Fort Portal Municipality and the whole of Kabarole district. The market was constructed by the government of Uganda using a loan of over 3million USD from the African Development Bank under the Markets and Agricultural trade improvement program. The construction works were undertaken by a private company called Excel construction limited chosen after a competitive bidding process.

The works on the market commenced in October 2011 and were complete by November, 2013

The Market boasts of 600 stalls,400 piches and 200 shops. The Market is managed by the Municipal authorities of Fort Portal Municipality, Kabarole district
