There are 4 regions (comarcas) in Catalonia, the territory of which covers more than one province: The comarca of Baixa Cerdanya contains 17 municipalities, 6 of them belonging to the province of Girona and the remaining 11 in the province of Lleida. The comarca of Berguedà contains 31 municipalities, 30 of them belonging to the province of Barcelona and the remaining 1 (Gósol) in the province of Lleida. The comarca of Osona contains 50 municipalities, 3 of them belonging to the province of Girona (Espinelves, Vidrà i Viladrau) and the remaining 47 in the province of Barcelona. The comarca of Selva contains 26 municipalities, 25 of them belonging to the province of Girona and the remaining 1 (Fogars de la Selva) in the province of Barcelona.
