English: Nestor Heck was a Romanian photographer who opened a studio in Iaşi. His working period was 1850 and ca. 1900. Initially his studio was located on Sfântul Spiridon Street (in the Reinicke Chethner house), then on the Strada Mare (Big Street), on the Lăpușneanu street no. 42, and finally on the Golia street. Many historical portraits of the classics of Romanian literature are due to the Nestor Heck's studio (Vasile Alecsandri, Ion Creangă, Mihai Eminescu, Ion Luca Caragiale, Veronica Micle). In 1889, he received a Diploma of Honour at the International Exhibition in Paris.
