English: The U.S. Custom House also known as the New London Customhouse, and now the operated as the New London Custom House Maritime Musuem by the New London Maritime Society, is located at 150 Bank Street between Pearl and Golden Streets in New London, Connecticut. It was built in 1833-35 from granite and was designed by Robert Mills - the architect of the Washington Monument - in the Greek Revival style. The U.S.S. Constitution provided the wooden planks from which the doors were crafted.

The 1839, the slave ship Amistad was moored near the Custom House after it was captured, and in 1840 its cargo was auctioned off there.

The Maritime Society was formed in 1983 to save the building, which is the oldest continuously-operating custom house in the country. It is part of the Downtown New London Historic District. (Description sources: [1] and [2])
