Deutsch: Das Gebäudekomplex der Oberpostdirektion und Hauptpost (Postamt 1, heute Neues Rathaus) in Kiel-Vorstadt war anfangs in der Jensenstraße als preußische Behörde und Kaiserliches Oberpostdirektion im Jahr 1867 errichtet.

Durch den Neubau in der Andreas-Gayk-Straße und am Stresemannplatz, Ecke Kaistraße (1958) wurde die Jensenstraße überbaut.

Später wurde das Gebäude des Getreide- und Futterhandels P. Völckers und danach das alte Postgebäude am Eisenbahndamm abgerissen und und es folgte ein Erweiterungsbau der Post an der Kaistraße (um 1975).
English: The building complex of the Oberpostdirektion (= regional post office administration) and main post office (Postamt 1, today Neues Rathaus) in Kiel-Vorstadt was initially built on Jensenstrasse as a Prussian authority and Imperial Oberpostdirektion in 1867.

With the new building on Andreas-Gayk-Strasse and Stresemannplatz, corner of Kaistrasse in 1958, Jensenstrasse was built over.

Later, the building of the P. Völckers grain and feed trade and then the old post office building on the railway embankment Eisenbahndamm were demolished and a post office extension building on Kaistraße (around 1975).
