English: The Old Providence Journal Building located at 203 Westminster Street and running along Eddy Street to Fulton Street in downtown Providence, Rhode Island, was built in 1906 as the headquarters for The Providence Journal newspaper, its eighth since its founding in 1829. The new building was designed by Robert Swain Peabody of the Boston firm of Peabody & Stearns in the Beaux-Arts style. The paper moved out to a new building in 1934. In the 1950s, the exterior of the building was covered in porcelain enamel panels, which were removed in an exterior restoration and interior renovation in the 1980s.
