English: Olympiad Road is a road in Mission Viejo, California, so renamed from O'Neill Road to commemorate the cycling races at the 1984 Summer Olympics that took place here on July 29, 1984. The women's race, especially, was the very first in Olympic history. In 2004, a permanent start/finish line and historic markers were installed by the city. In 2014, 30th anniversary panels were placed at the start/finish line and temporary "Route" signs were placed along the entire route (Olympiad - Marguerite - Cordova (now called Mustang) - Crucero - Hidalgo - Vista del Lago - Marguerite - La Paz - Olympiad). Olympiad Road is also home to Florence Joyner Olympiad Park, named after Florence Griffith Joyner who won four medals in the 1988 Summer Olympics.[1][2][3][4][5][6]
