Poblacion (Filipino/Tagalog: poblasyon; IPA: pobläˈʃo̞n; abbreviated as Pob.) or Barangay Poblacion, is a coastal Barangay (/bɑrɑːŋˈɡaɪ/; abbreviated as Brgy. or Bgy.)
of Banate, Iloilo and often refer to as the downtown area where most commercial establishments and municipal offices are located. Some call this barangay as the "town proper", "cabecera" (Spanish) or "town center". Being geographically situated on the coastal part and to the major cross town road of the province of Iloilo, Brgy. Poblacion is the town's business center and is considered an ideal place for economic activities and developments. < Please note > Almost all towns and cities in the Philippines have a community area called Barangay Poblacion as their central district.
