English: JOW 499E is an AEC Swift MPR2 chassis with a Strachan Pacemaker double-door single-deck bus. It was built in 1967 and delivered to Southampton Corporation where it was given fleet number 1 and was initially used on routes that passed beneath a low railway bridge in Woolston. It was sold in 1977 and spent several years as army cadet transport before entering preservation in 1986.
