English: Prinsjesdag, or Prince's Day, is the third Tuesday in September, when the koffertje, or little briefcase, symbolizing the yearly government budget is brought to the Binnenhof, accompanied by a speech from King Willem-Alexander called the troonrede. The King is accompanied from Noordeinde Palace to the Binnenhof by a procession with magnificent horsemen and a Golden carriage. On arrival, the koffertje is presented by the Minister of Finance.
Nederlands: Elk jaar op Prinsjesdag, de derde dinsdag in september, spreekt de Koning in de Ridderzaal namens de regering de troonrede uit, waarin de regering de beleidsvoornemens voor het komende jaar verwoordt. Hij legt de afstand van Paleis Noordeinde af per Gouden Koets. Aangekomen op het Binnenhof, biedt de minister van Financiën zijn beroemde koffertje aan de Tweede Kamer aan. Het koffertje bevat de rijksbegroting en de Miljoenennota.
