English: The National Library of Russia in St Petersburg, known as the State Public Saltykov-Shchedrin Library in 1932-1992 (i.e. in the Soviet era), is the oldest public library in Russia.
Русский: Росси́йская национа́льная библиоте́ка (до 1917 года — Импера́торская публи́чная библиотека, до 1925 года — Российская публичная библиотека (с 1932 года — имени М. Е. Салтыкова-Щедрина); до 27 марта 1992 года — Государственная публичная библиотека) — одна из первых публичных библиотек в Восточной Европе, расположена в Санкт-Петербурге.
