English: The Salzkammergut is a region in central Austria on the northern edge of the Alps. There are three federal states sharing this area: Salzburg, Styria, and Upper Austria. In the state of Salzburg, the Salzkammergut is part of two geographical regions: Flachgau (identically equal to the political district of Salzburg-Umgebung) and Tennengau (political district of Hallein).
