The temple in antis was built in the ionic order in the late second century BC with decoration based on the older temple of Athena (a sample of architectural elements is to be seen at the southwest corner of the temple). To the east are the remains of the altar, to the south a fragment of the base of the cult statue of Asclepius, which probably all also included his wife Hygiea. There was a portico on the north side. A Byzantine castle was built over the northeast part of the sanctuary in the 13th century.
