Shoulder Sleeve Insignia[edit]
Description[edit]
- On a shield per pale Gules and Sable, an arrow palewise point to chief counterchanged, surmounted by a lamp of knowledge Or, all within a ⅛ inch (.32 cm) Black border.
- Attached above the shield a Red scroll edged with a ⅛ inch (.32 cm) Black border and inscribed “CENTRAL H.S.” in Yellow letters.
- The overall dimensions are 3 1/4 inches (8.26 cm) in height by 2 3/4 inches (6.99 cm) in width.
Symbolism[edit]
- Red and black are the colors of Central High School.
- The shield represents strength, courage and protection as the ideals of the cadets.
- The arrow symbolizes the desire to set a true path through life, and signifies the cadets’ desire to always reach for the highest standards.
- The lamp of knowledge alludes to education through which their goals can be obtained.

- The shoulder sleeve insignia was approved on 1999-02-10.

Description[edit]
- Hoist: Three Feet.
- Fly: Four Feet.
- The flag is silver gray fringed in scarlet.
- In the center is the JROTC device consisting of two arched olive branches with stems conjoined in base, forming a wreath, surmounted by a sheathed saber and rifle in saltire.
- Overall in the vertical center is the ROTC torch enflamed, all in yellow.
- Around the center device is a white band edged in scarlet and inscribed with the name of the school in scarlet letters.
- The device with designation scroll is 16 inches in diameter.
- In the upper hoist is the monogram “ARMY ROTC” in scarlet on a white disc edged in scarlet, 6½ inches in diameter.
