Yubimoji are the basic fingerspelling signs in Japanese Sign Language, also called the Japanese Manual Alphabet. The pure vowels in the a-gyou and many of the syllables in the a-dan are based on equivalent vowel signs and bare consonants from the sign languages of the French Sign Language Family, such as American Sign Language.
