When I first came across the category of Ciliau Aeron, it was categorised as "Towns and Villages in Ceredigion" but most of the pictures were of the community of Ciliau Aeron, not the village. I therefore categorised it further as a sub-category of "Ciliau Aeron" community, in turn a sub-category of "Communities of Ceredigion". However, I then noticed that a bot had put the following description into the category of another community/village Y Ferwig: "Y Ferwig (sometimes spelled Verwig) is a small village, parish (linked to "civil parish" on en) and community about 2 to 3 miles from Cardigan." Although the "civil parish" designation has been superceded by the "community" designation in Wales and is therefore redundant, this seems to me to be a better solution than sub-categorising each village into its community. So I will change all the ones I have amended back to the original, but sub-categorising them to "Communities of Ceredigion" as well as "Towns and Villages in Ceredigion", and adding a sentence of explanation to each category. Unless, of course, anybody would like to add a comment... Lloffiwr (talk) 12:26, 14 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

@Lloffiwr: its because we don't generally make a distinction between settlements and communities, however some do as can be seen that Category:Llanddeusant (community) does. This will probably be done with most of them in time, if you look in Category:Civil parishes in England the same is done there. Crouch, Swale (talk) 12:51, 7 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
