Definition[edit]

What's a "cruciform church", for the definition of this category? Some of those being added are a bit tenuous for it. What's a "non-cruciform" church in Anglican or Catholic contexts? There are just a handful of circular churches and the rest are cruciform or close to it. Almost all of them have the same orientation and notion of a linear nave. The transept isn't always obvious and in some of these categorised here it's questionable as to whether it's really present.

This category tree needs to be better defined. It's either narrower than it's being treated at the moment or else it would include so many of the "churches" category that it's barely any different. Andy Dingley (talk) 15:10, 15 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

It should be strictly for churches in the shape of a cross, not a liner/rectangular church. It should be mainly linear with two small wings - one on each side. Of all of the churches that I have photographed, very few have the cruciform shape. Royalbroil 03:27, 18 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
