- The reason, methinks, is that a dog breed is a phenomenon that includes, but is not limited to, individuals of that breed. Think breeders, prominent lines, kennels, events, conformational changes over time, politics between various organizations, origins of the breed etc. --Pitke (talk) 12:14, 5 May 2018 (UTC)
