Evdokia and Evdoxia are two different names. Which one was the name of the first wife of Peter the Great?

I am not Russian and I do not speak Russian, but it seems to me that the correct version of the name is Евдокия, which should be pronunced 'Evdokia'. I do not know why the name is spelled 'Evdoxia" in so many entries. Is it possible that there is some confusion because the two Byzantine (Greek) names sound similar?
