Category talk:Wikimedia screenshots
Move the most content to Category:MediaWiki screenshots[edit]
Hi, first, I understand why it is like it is at the moment, but I propose to change a little bit the cat-tree OR starting a bigger recategorisation work.
At the moment I see the problem in the categorisation by language. In this category here there is no categorisation by language. So all the "by language"-categories like
- Wikipedia screenshots by language,
- Wikibooks screenshots by language (t.b.created),
- Wikisource screenshots by language or
- Commons screenshots by language
are rooting to Screenshots by language. But there is already a categorisation by language under the category MediaWiki screenshots by language. So in my opinion the most content could/should be moved there. This category is just on the same level like the other (commons, books, ...) and quite empty at the moment. As an example I started to fill the german version MediaWiki screenshots in de.
By the way Wikimedia is a Foundation and not a software or website of which you can make a screenshots. So I propose to keep here just only kategories which are related to the Foundation like Fundraising 2010 payment screenshots.
I know it is important to group all the wikimedia projects under a wikimedia category, but we do this allready with the projects itself, no need to it for the screenshots. So categories like Wikiquote screenshots are better grouped under Category:MediaWiki screenshots imO. Maybe this will help to integrate Categories like Category:Mediawiki edit interface better in the category tree. Category is too Full[edit]
Because of the automatic categorisation of Template:Wikimedia-screenshot this categorie here is so full (more than 10.000 medias), with a lot of double categorisations. (see too: Template talk:Wikimedia-screenshot#Category:Wikimedia screenshots becomes too filled). --W like wiki (talk) 23:20, 25 July 2017 (UTC)
What about other Wikimedia chapters?[edit]
