This page is intended to make communication with the Bundesarchiv (BArch) possible regarding errors in image descriptions like wrong identifications of persons or places, typographic mistakes in names of persons or places or wrong interpretations of historical circumstances. It should give the BArch the possibility to review their database and to correct information. However, this page is not intended to deal with technical or transfer problems on Wikimedia Commons.

  • I suggest to install a general discussion page concerning the Bundesarchiv project. There is a number of question to be discussed.
  • At the same time I would like to suggest to create an “error marker” that is immediately visible when opening a page for which an error report has been made on this page.

[edit] Zu niedrig aufgelöste Bilder (Low resolution)

Die niedrige Auflösung mit 800 Pixeln an der längeren Seite ist natürlich grundsätzlich zu akzeptieren, das ist die Entscheidung des Bundesarchivs. Es gibt aber einzelne Bilder, vor allem Luftbilder, die man in dieser niedrigen Auflösung sehr schlecht verwenden kann, da zu wenig erkennbar wird. In diesen Fällen wäre es sehr freundlich, eine doch etwas höhere Auflösung zur Verfügung zu stellen. Gestumblindi (talk) 12:03, 16 December 2008 (UTC)

These photos say "Minister for Trade and Industry, Marshall, New Zealand" and later "Marshall, Cedric Russel" I don't think the photos show Cedric Russell Marshall, alternate photo here, But actually show Jack Marshall, DNZB photo here Cedric Russell Marshall would only be 25 years old in 1961, wasn't a government minister until 23 years later, and his portfolios don't match. Jack Marshall was a government minister in 1961, his portfolios do match Trade and Industry, and the DNZB photo looks more similar. Benchill (talk) 02:40, 4 October 2009 (UTC)

In der Reihenfolge der Personen von links nach rechts wird Wolfgang Koschnick genannt. Der Mann heißt nicht Wolfgang Koschnick, sondern Hans Koschnick.

Wer von den beiden ist jetzt wohl Luise Erhard :-O
Dateiname und Bildtitel sind zumindest fraglich - ABER:
Bild gehört zu einer Serie von Bildern (Siehe Category:Luise Erhard) - ist die Kategorisierung damit richtig oder falsch?

Im Bild ebenfalls abgebildet (ggf. in Beschreibung aufnehmen): Karl Wienand (Mitte zwischen Udo Jürgens und Rut Brandt). Da das im Artikel Karl Wienand verwendete Bild eher Helmut Schmidt als Karl Wienand zeigt könnte - Rechte vorausgesetzt - eine Ausschnitvergrößerung für diesen Artikel zur Verfügung gestellt werden.

Why is there a bot User:Bundesarchiv-B6 going round reverting changes made to the images by other users? People are cropping the white stripes off the images and generally cleaning them up but this is being reverted. The images need cleaning up before they can be used while the original versions are still available on the page for anyone who wants them. There seems to be a bot for cropping them and one fro reverting changes. What is going on? The bot user page appears to say to leave problem reports here, but it is in German. Have you an idea what an en:Original is? BA presents an authorized scan with the original description, so people can rely on a good source. That's much worthier than the stuff which little boys are presenting with their photoshop programmes. See Commons:Deletion_requests/File:Bundesarchiv_Bild_183-41636-0002,_Warschauer_Ghetto-Aufstand,_Verhaftungen.jpg. You might upload a new derivative version with a new file ame, but never overwrite an original by BA. 09:17, 23 November 2009 (UTC)
I just raised this issue on village pump. Someone there pointed out Category:Images_with_watermarks. Apparently it is policy to remove all credits from upoloaded images. What exactly is original about a caption added by the bundersarchive themselves?
There is a different but equally important issue where images need repairs. I don't see why you have a problem with people uploading cleaned up versions of the images. These headline images are used on wiki pages for the public to see. They are not an archive. That is what the bundersarchive does. Anyone who wants a copy of the original upload can still get it as the original version listed in the file history. Are you concerned that people will be getting better versions than the archive donated in the first place? Sandpiper (talk) 14:58, 23 November 2009 (UTC)
why did you link that deletion debate? The discussion there was that someone had found a better version of the image and uploaded it in place of the original from bundersarchive. I am talking about images which are derivatives of the original granted by BA. But in the example you cite, how is uploading a larger version from the original 'stuff which little boys are presenting with their photoshop programs'?
