Salamander on the facade of the church of S. Louis of France
  •  I withdraw my nomination Salamander on the facade of the church of S. Louis of France of 1478 with the words "" ERIT Christianorum LUMEN IN IGNE " ie " It will be the light of the Christians in the fire, "referring to St. Louis of France and the fact that at that time it was thought that would not burn. • Historical  Comment: the church Saint-Louis-des-Français (San Luigi dei Francesi) in Rome was built between 1518 and 1586, by order of king of France François Ier (Francis 1st), the salamander in the fire is the personal symbol of his father. The church was dedicated to Saint-Louis (king Louis IX of France, an indirect ancestor to king Francis), who was born in the middle-ages, just 800 years ago (some celebrations in France this year).--Jebulon (talk) 20:10, 12 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Piazza di San Luigi de 'French takes its name from the church (pictured above) that there is but one time, before the construction of the church, was called "square Saponara", manufacturers of soap that had settled in this area. The history of the church began in 1478, when Pope Sixtus IV donated to the French Colony of Rome a parish that was dedicated to the "Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary, in S.Dionigi and St. Louis, King of France" (French patrons of the Nation) and established a brotherhood with the same name, the first nucleus of the Congregation of the Pious Establishments French, who still manages the religious foundations of the nation.
