- Support - I like the shape and clarity of the sea lion, and the bokeh is fine. I'm wondering, though: Is up on the picture actually to the right? Is the sea lion sleeping or just blinking? (By the way, this question does point out one problem with the lack of really visible background: The sea lion just kind of floats. Seeing where his flippers are could help orient the viewer, too, but they're below his neck.) -- Ikan Kekek (talk) 05:12, 20 January 2016 (UTC)
- Comment @Ikan Kekek: My best guess would be that s/he's enjoying the autumn sun. That pose actually looks totally familiar to me, think I might've seen them do that on TV? --El Grafo (talk) 15:22, 21 January 2016 (UTC)
- OK, but which way is up? Because of the lack of any clear middleground or background, the viewer is really not sure. I think that's a problem, and I may rethink my vote to support and change it to neutral because of that (not that that would change the outcome of this nomination). -- Ikan Kekek (talk) 23:29, 24 January 2016 (UTC)

- Support If you're asking yourself whether you should invest into a new camera or a new lens, this one might help you: Shot on a (by now) almost 10 year-old body with a piece of high-end glass ;-) crop might be a little bit tight around the nose and chest, but more than good enough for me. --El Grafo (talk) 15:22, 21 January 2016 (UTC)

Oppose Nice quality photo but I wouldn't feature it because the eyes are closed. FPs of animals are so much better with eyes open. Same with people. Charles (talk) 16:54, 22 January 2016 (UTC)
- Comment IMHO, the fact that the eyes are closed give this image dynamic that would be lost if they were open, showing an animal enjoying the sun. --C messier (talk) 11:05, 23 January 2016 (UTC)
