Scope | Nominated as the most valued image on Commons within the scope: Real Chancillería of Granada, Spain, facade. |
Used in | Global usage |
Reason | Best view of the facade of the palace, probably the first in Spain built to be used as a Court House. It was the king's chancery for justice for all the spanish territories at the south of the Tagus river (the Real Chancilleria for the north was located in Valladolid). Built by Charles V, Holy Roman Emperor, which was the king Charles I of Spain, between 1581 and 1587. Nice sample of the spanish Renaissance architecture style. Nowadays, it is used as the High Court of Andalusia, and of the spanish african exclaves of Ceuta & Melilla. Granada, Spain. -- Jebulon (talk) |
