Today, Poland has lost his President in dramatic circumstances. It's time, maybe, to remember the man who became first President of this country just after WWI. I think that this picture was unknown in "Commons" until today, and it shows a man between the status of soldier and the status of stateman. -- Jebulon (talk)

It's the first time I publish a scan made by me. I don't know if it was published in Poland, may be it was a photograph made by and for a french journalist of this magazine, ("L'ILLUSTRATION"). I still disagree with Rastaman3000, it's for me evident that this picture is not the most valuable for scope Józef Piłsudski, too large for such a picture. Sorry for the "Chief of state", It's for me very interesting to learn about that, I'll read more about this glorious history. Finally, I agree with the oppose of Myrabella, except one point: the doubt about copyright. It's no doubt, I mean. It' a scan (thanks for better licensing, I was wrong here too) of a french newspaper, I've got the original of this magazine, published in 1919, now in public domaine (a french speaking discussion about that would be wonderfull for me, because of my poor English).
