Commons:Wiki Loves Africa 2022 in Zimbabwe
Wiki Loves Africa is an annual contest where anyone across Africa can contribute media that relates to that year's theme to Wikimedia Commons) for use on Wikipedia and other project websites of the Wikimedia Foundation. Wiki Loves Africa encourages participants to contribute media (photographs, video and audio) that illustrate the specific theme for that year. Each year the theme changes. Each year's theme is chosen by the community to be a universal, visually-rich and culturally-specific topics (for example, markets, rites of passage, festivals, public art, cuisine, natural history, urbanity, daily life, notable persons, etc).
You are encouraged to submit any photos of Home and Habitats in Zimbabwe between 15th February and 15h April 2022. By submitting your photos to the competition, you share homes and habitats in Zimbabwe with the rest of the world to enjoy through the internet and allow visibility of your shots and your country.

Whether you are in Harare, Bulawayo, Mutare, Masvingo, Gwanda, Chinhoyi, Harondera, Bindura, Hwange, Beitbridge or anywhere else in Zimbabwe, find home and habitats, take a photo and upload it to Wikimedia Commons:

Jury members
At the end of the month, the national jury will evaluate the photographs and select the best 10 pictures of the homes and habitats in Uganda to submit to represent in the international finale. The international jury will then announce the international winners in June 2022.

- Judging criteria
The jury will determine the winners of the international contest taking into consideration the following criteria (in no particular order):
- Technical quality (sharpness, use of light, perspective etc.);
- Originality;
- Usefulness of the image for Wikipedia.
Images that reach a top ranking of the international finale, will typically at least fulfill the technical criteria of the ‘Featured Image’ process at Wikimedia Commons. But feel free to submit many images, and let the jury be concerned if they are good enough.
Prizes
There are several prizes up for grabs, both nationally and internationally.
At the international level, the prizes are :
- 1st prize: US$2000
- 2nd prize: US$1500
- 3rd prize: US$1000
- Culturally specific or traditional representations of home, houses or spaces of living : US$750
- Prize for best quality video (audio and visual quality and storytelling will be taken into account): US$1000
- Special collection (a series of images that tell a story): US$750
Each winner will also receive a pack of Wiki Loves Africa-branded merchandise.
At the national level (Zimbabwe) you stand a chance to win
- 1st National Prize - $150.00
- 2nd National Prize - $70.00
- 3rd National Prize - $30.00
- To encourage participation from the districts best photos from the participating districts namely Harare, Bulawayo, Gweru, Mutare and Marondera will be awarded
- prizes of $50.00 each.
