Description
English: The Announcement of the People's Party, aka the Announcement of the People's Party No. 1, issued and read to the public on 24 June 1932 at 06:00 hrs by party leader Colonel Phot Phahonlayothin at the Equestrian Plaza, Bangkok, before the party launched a coup (now known as Siamese revolution of 1932) against King Rama VII of Siam (now Thailand) in order to replace the country's absolute monarchy with a constitutional monarchy. The announcement condemned the monarchy for abuse of power and people and stated, amongst other things, the six goals of the party, such as to enable the people to enjoy equality, to enable the people to access full and best education, etc.
