Summary[edit]

Description
English: Wikipedia's core content policies highlight the importance of knowledge reliability. For example, the "verifiability" policy mandates that any "Material challenged or likely to be challenged, and all quotations, must be attributed to a reliable, published source". These policies are designed and applied by a large community of editors, who contribute with their time and skills to the largest source of free knowledge on the web. However, Wikipedia is constantly evolving, and the pace at which new information get ingested into the encyclopedia (over 40M monthly edits) makes it difficult for the community to monitor that these policies are always applied. As part of the work done by the WMF Research team, we try to support Wikipedia editors with Data Science and Machine Learning tools and research that can make their work more efficient. During this session, we are going to show some of our more recent findings, tools and the resources that we share with the Wikipedians and the broader research community.
