Summary[edit]

Description
English: Unlike graphite, the burning of wood in N2O is more intense. Also, if we compare how wood burns in an atmosphere of air and N2O, it is clear that the intensity of the burning in N2O is greater. When wood burns, a large number of cellulose-like materials that are part of its structure, burn and release various gaseous products. Some of them are "acidic" gases, i.e. gases that form acids with water. The acids are responsible for the neutralization of the phenolphthalein alkaline solution and its discoloration. The experiment was performed by Prof. PhD Miha Bukleski. The planning of the experiment also included the Prof. Emeritus PhD Vladimir Petruševski, Prof. PhD Marina Stojanovska and the student Mihail Trajkov, Department of Chemistry, FNSM, Ss. Cyril and Methodius University, Skopje, Macedonia.
