Summary[edit]

Description
English: Red-hot iron wool placed in a tube filled with O2 ignites and burns with intense light. When iron is burned, metal oxides are formed. Depending on the reaction conditions and the ratio between the two participants, the following equations can be written:
2Fe + O2 = 2FeO
4Fe + 3O2 = 2Fe2O3
3Fe + 2O2 = Fe3O4
The experiment was performed by Prof. PhD Miha Bukleski. The planning of the experiment also included the Prof. Emeritus PhD Vladimir Petruševski, Prof. PhD Marina Stojanovska and the student Mihail Trajkov, Department of Chemistry, FNSM, Ss. Cyril and Methodius University, Skopje, Macedonia.
