Summary[edit]

Description
English: 114 Waverly Place, between Washington Square West and Sixth Avenue, in the Greenwich Village neighborhood of Manhattan, New York City, was built in 1826 as part of a group of nine Federal-style houses, but was radically redesigned in 1920 by William Sanger in the French Art Nouveau style mixed with Italianate influences on the ground floor. It is located in the Greenwich Village Historic District. (Source: Greenwich Village Historic District Designation Report p.151) Inside, the building has a parlor with 14 foot ceilings and a black and white tiled floor, and an artist's studio with a balconied mezzanine and a fireplace on the top floor, while the basement has high ceilings.(Source: "Inside the Novogratzs’ Historic Pink Palace in Greenwich Village" Architectural Digest)
