Description
English: U.S. Army Capt. Seth Nieman (left) presents Tech. Sgt. Doug Matthews (right), a combat controller with the Oregon Air National Guard's 125th Special Tactics Squadron, with the rarely awarded Silver Star, March 24, during a ceremony at the 41st Infantry Division Armed Forces Reserve Center at Camp Withycombe, in Clackamas, Ore. Matthews' actions saved Nieman's life, along with other Special Forces teammates, during an ambush near Jalrez, Wardak Province in Afghanistan on Nov. 27, 2012.
