Deutsch: Nach einer Skizze von Bernhard Wiegandt für einen Artikel in der Illustrirten Zeitung vom 10. August 1872 geschaffener Holzstich mit dem Untertitel

„Das vierte Deutsche Bundesschießen in Hannover: Die Spitze des Festzugs in der Schmiedestraße“

wohl des Umzugs am Sonntag, den 14. Juli 1872.
Der Blick geht durch die mit Fahnen, Wimpeln und Girlanden geschmückte Schmiedestraße Ecke Osterstraße in Richtung Marktkirche. Eine zumeist in Festgewänder gekleidete Menschenmenge begrüßt die Reiter, ausschließlich Männer mit Frack und Zylinder.

Links ist das Haus Osterstraße 1 zu sehen, früher auch Plenterburg genannt, später als Gasthaus "Zum römischen Kaiser" genutzt. In den 1930er Jahren wurde das Gebäude von der Firma Otto Nonne (Pfannenschmid & Nonne), genutzt, in dem der SS-Mann Friedrich Wilhelm Nonne als Geschäftsführer wirkte ...

Das hier gezeigte Blatt (Ausschnitt, 27,5 x 22,5 cm; Darstellung 23,5 x 19,7 cm) wurde aus der Zeitschrift herausgeschnitten, später handkoloriert und auf Trägerpapier aufgezogen.
