Summary[edit]

Description

June 17, 1939

“We stopped at the Monterey Lodge on Colorado Blvd. in Pasadena – and found ourselves at one of the finest stopping places in America. Here came N. H. McKerral, his wife and daughters, about two years ago, from Iowa, where he had been a banker, and had built this deluxe motor court.

“We had a cottage of two rooms with couches, easy chairs, reading lamps, two tile baths, a kitchen with an electric refrigerator. There was a garage, of course.

“And all for $4.50 a day.”
