Summary
[edit]Description1953 Austin A40 Somerset Tourer (13713972754).jpg |
The Austin A40 Somerset replaced the Devon in 1952. It was available in 4 door saloon or 2 door convertible. Running gear and chassis were similar to the Devon, but the body resembled the larger A70 Hereford. The Tourer was built by Carbodies in Coventry. Different to the Saloon were the front seats which were single and folded forward to allow access to the back seat. The Somerset was replaced by the A40 Cambridge in 1954. Engine; 1200cc 4 cyl |
