Description

1961 Willys Jeep FC-170 4WD ambulance rescue truck Wormald Brothers badge and Jeep grille emblem. Originally operated by the St. George - Sutherland District of the New South Wales Ambulance Transport Service Board. Fibreglass body fitted by Wormald Brothers Industries of Melbourne. This truck was the first designated rescue unit in New South Wales. Nicknamed the Q-Van, short for Res-Q Van. A second identical unit was placed into service by the Hunter District in Newcastle in 1963. Both units were replaced with Ford F-350s in 1980. Now part of the Ambulance Service of New South Wales historical collection. Taken at Point Clare ambulance station.
