English: This 1962 postcard photo shows the 900 block of Hamilton Street, taken from the corner of Tenth looking eastbound. Dominating the image is the Pennsylvania Power and Light Building, completed in June 1928. It also shows the Rialto Theater, opened in 1921, however the lobby on Hamilton Street was rebuilt in 1946/47 after a disastrous fire. The theater is showing "Gunfight at the O. K. Corral", is a 1957 film that was being re-released in the summer of 1962. Also note the early 1960s automobiles parked along the street. Other items in the photo are the "hanging gardens" on the streetlight poles along Hamilton, first started in 1915 by Mayor Reichenbach to help beautify the City. In the background is Hess's Department Store at Ninth and Hamilton, and in the distance at Center Square is the new First National Bank building on the northeast corner of the square. This building was erected in 1959.
