The Chevrolet Motor Company was formed in 1911. The 1965 Chevrolet was all new, now longer, rounded sides and the front leant forward, it got a new interior and coil suspension. Models for 65 were; The base model Biscayne; in 2 or 4 door Sedans and Wagon. Mid spec, Bel Air (waste height side trim, twin round tail lights); 2 or 4 door Sedans and Wagon. Top model; Impala (more elaborate side trim, triple round tail lights); 2 door Hardtop Coupe, Convertible, 4 door Sedan, Hardtop Sedan and Wagon. The high performance Impala SS (Super Sport); 2 door Hardtop Coupe or Convertible Also available in 1965 was the C2 Corvette Sting Ray, rear engine Corvair, compact Chevy II (Nova), the mid size Chevelle and El Camino Coupe Utility Canada produced right hand drive Chevrolets for export with their own fibreglass dash, General Motors Holden in Australia assembled versions of these from kits, the 4 door Bel Air Sedan and the 4 door Impala Hardtop, radios and heaters were locally sourced. Engines; 140hp 230 6 cyl, 195hp 283 V8, 250, 300, 350, 365 and 375hp 327 V8, 325 and 425 396 V8 and 340, and 400 409 V8 |
