Known to us in the UK as a Vauxhall Astra mark one. I spotted this looking seemingly abandoned at the roadside in Corinth, Greece. These are very rare in the UK, and are most likely uncommon or rare in most countries. Sad to see an unused example, as this one has lasted about 30 years on the roads. It looks very odd without the front bumper, a bit bare. Nasty replacement wheeltrims unfortunately. Although it looks solid, it's most likely never to drive again- very few people can afford to run cars, especially a classic like this, in post crisis Greece. If this was in the UK, there would be people asking about it all the time. I think the way vehicles are shown to be unlicensed in Greece is by removing the number plates. Abandoned cars I've seen so far in Greece mostly have tax discs most recently 2009 or 2010. This is because of the economic crisis in the country |
