Description
Deutsch: 11.04.2007 01796 Pirna, Brauendstraße / Ecke Kahrenweg: Tetzelsäule (GMP: 13.928593,13.928593). Am westlichen Stadtrand von Pirna, fast an der Stadtgrenze zu Heidenau, steht zwischen Bahntrasse und Elbe die Tetzelsäule. Es ist eine etwas übermannsgroße Sandstein-Felsensäule, aufgestapelt aus mehren Blöcken. Die Sandsteinsäule erinnert an den Dominikanermönch und bedeutenden Ablaßprediger Johannes Tetzel, der um 1465 im Haus Schmiederstraße 19 in Pirna geboren wurde und 1519 in Leipzig verstarb.
