各式花色，十八班武艺，信手拈来。刻刀舞动，白屑翻飞，短短数十秒，一只只精巧的麻将就临空出世。正在手雕麻将的师傅名叫何秀湄，至今已投身麻将行业超过半个世纪的她也被街坊亲切地称呼为“湄姐”。随着手雕麻将逐渐被机器取代，昔日风靡一时的行业如今在香港只剩下三位师傅，而湄姐是其中仅存的一名女技师。自1962年开始，湄姐与父母搬来这处位于红磡唐楼中的小店，她13岁开始入行学艺，此后的半个多世纪，她再未打过第二份工。 从雕刻、压印纹路到上色、修补、烘干，即使资深师傅马不停蹄，完成一副144张牌的全套手工麻将也需要足足花上四天时间，耗时不说，投入的精力也堪比机器辅助的几十倍不止。因而手工麻将价高不易得，这一行业也日渐式微。作为“末代师傅”，湄姐对此深感惋惜，却也无可奈何。
低头侧身步入小店，可以看到店内墙壁上贴的家庭相片已微微泛黄，看得出这是养育了两代人的地方。谈及对这门手艺的情感，湄姐感慨万千。
如今的湄姐会在业余时间参加一些文化工作坊，旨在将这门传统的技艺与当下青年人分享。她说，麻将体现了中国人的传统智慧，而手工麻将中渗透的执着与匠心也是当下年轻人应该学习的，希望尽自己所能将这门手艺传扬给更多人知道。 |
